Mary found manual medicine early in life, discovering she could use her hands to make her parents’ aches and pains subside. University studies helped inform a holistic view of life and eventually brought Mary to understand those innate manual skills, which by now she’s honed over decades of practice in the USA and South Africa.
Her ability to listen deeply, respond intuitively, and hold intelligently found a natural home with the cranio sacral approach to bodywork: hands-on yet non-invasive; subtle yet effective. During her 15 years in Africa, Mary studied and eventually taught at the diploma and post graduate levels in South Africa and on the tiny island nation of Mauritius. She earned distinction for therapeutic outreach to Cape Town’s most disadvantaged children at The Alpha School for Children with Autism.
Resettled in the United States since 2014, Mary offers cranio sacral therapy to the people of San Francisco’s Bay Area in the comfort of their own homes. Her passion is supporting others while they navigate life’s most potent events and vulnerable moments.
Mary’s an active member of the Craniosacral Children’s Collective which hopes to resume free monthly clinics for infants post-pandemic. She is past chair and current board member of North Atlantic Books, a respected independent publisher of bodywork and somatic texts. Mary is also the very proud mama of two grown sons and lucky Gogo to three beautiful grandbabies.
Post-pandemic Mary hopes to resume her mobile cranio sacral practice, offering home visits to clients throughout the SF Bay Area.
